A church of Gothic origin from the 14th century from the heyday of gold mining in the vicinity of Hartmanice. Some structural elements suggest an even older foundation.
The church was modified in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
The silver mass chalice bears the inscription 'This Chalice Nalezi S. Katerzinie Do Hartmanic Anno 1644'.
Three newly repaired bells were installed in St. Catherine's Church in 2021. .
In the vestibule of the church, an exhibition dedicated to the memory of the victims of the women's death march at the end of World War II, where twelve women died in the large estate in Hořejší Krušec, is open all year round.
A separate parish was established in Hartmanice in 1856. Since the middle of the 20th century, the spiritual administration of Hartmanice has been carried out from Sušice.
Services are held in the church on Sundays at 11:30 a.m.
